Philo Taylor Farnsworth (1906-1971), Inventor
Patent #1773980

Farnsworth was born on August 19, (my birthday!!) 1906, in Beaver, Utah, and educated at Rigby (Idaho) High and BYU. He learned about atomic particles (electrons) and Einstien's theory of reletivity. When he went into classrooms, he amazed teachers with his plans for an electron tube!

When Philo was 20, he produced the first all-electric image on a television tube. I think it was just static, but it is an amazing acheivment. Farnsworth's tube, when introduced to the pubic, was a giant step on the staircase of communications. It made delivering important news to neiborhoods eaiser. It was another major inspiration for the computer that I am typing this report on!

Philo Taylor Farnsworth died on March 11, 1971.
