Robert R. Taylor Architect

The first black graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Taylor was recruited by Booker T. Washington to build the Tuskegee campus. Teaching students the craft of construction in the process, they made thousands of bricks and built the sturdy buildings, many of which are still in use today.
