Reisers at Monterey Bay Aquarium

March 26, 1998 - April 3, 1998

Dad had to take a trip to California on business, so we decided to take our school on the road. We were studying oceans, currents and habitats, so we took a trip to Monterey, CA, to visit the wonderful Monterey Bay Aquarium. There were other interesting sites on the way. The text below is from the eCards that we sent out each day on our trip. We've included the pictures that we sent with those eCards, along with some bonus pictures.

Day 1: Sacramento Discovery Museum
Day 2: Odessey of the Mind, California State Finals
Day 3: Daily Republic Newspaper
Day 4: Monterey Bay Aquarium (Ocean Habitats)
Day 5: Monterey Bay Aquarium (Otters & other Marine Mammals)
Day 6: Monterey Bay Aquarium (Open Ocean)

Other Scenes:

Every morning we had to do our "basics," which is like math, reading, etc.

When we were driving, we had basics, or "explore" projects to do. Here is Harrison learning with the Magic Schoolbus "Oceans" CDROM.

On the way home, we stopped in The Middle of Nowhere, Nevada for an exercise break.

After we got back, Amanda made a Kelp Forest diarama for the pet otter she bought. She is named "Pebbles."
